Terms of Service

Last updated: June 10, 2026

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Habident, an AI-assisted spaced repetition learning platform for classroom use. By creating an account, accessing a class, or using Habident, you agree to these Terms.

Who May Use Habident

Habident is intended for schools, administrators, teachers, and students using the service for educational purposes. Users must provide accurate account information and use the role assigned to them. Students may use Habident only as authorized by their school, teacher, parent, guardian, or applicable law.

Teachers and administrators are responsible for using Habident only with proper school authorization and any notices or consents required for their students, including students under 13 when applicable.

Accounts and Codes

You are responsible for keeping account credentials, school invite codes, and class join codes secure. Do not share credentials or codes with people who are not authorized to access the relevant school, class, or account. We may suspend or revoke access if we believe an account or code is being misused.

Classroom Use

Teachers may create questions, assign practice, review student progress, respond to appeals, and manage classroom settings. Students may answer assigned questions, view feedback, track progress, submit appeals, and use classroom features made available by their teacher.

Habident is an educational tool. Schools and teachers remain responsible for instructional decisions, student evaluation, classroom supervision, and compliance with school policies and applicable law.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Access accounts, classes, or data without authorization.
  • Share private student, teacher, school, or account information outside authorized classroom use.
  • Upload harmful, unlawful, infringing, abusive, or intentionally misleading content.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, scrape, bypass, or compromise Habident or its security controls.
  • Use Habident to cheat, impersonate someone else, or interfere with another user's learning or teaching.
  • Use student personal information for advertising, profiling, or non-educational purposes.

Content and Permissions

Users may submit, upload, or generate content in Habident, including questions, images, answers, appeals, feedback, and classroom settings. You retain ownership of content you have the right to provide.

You grant Habident a limited license to host, store, process, display, transmit, analyze, and otherwise use content as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. Teacher question sharing outside the teacher's own account or school context remains opt-in through the product setting designed for that purpose.

AI Grading and Generated Content

Habident may use AI systems to grade short-answer responses and generate draft questions. AI output can be incomplete, incorrect, or inappropriate for a particular classroom context. Teachers are responsible for reviewing AI-assisted output as needed, responding to student appeals, and making final instructional or grading decisions.

Students should not rely on AI feedback as the only source of instruction or evaluation. Habident does not guarantee that AI grading or generated content will always be accurate.

Privacy and Student Data

Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. Schools, teachers, and administrators must use student data only for authorized educational purposes and must not use Habident to collect or share student information in violation of applicable law or school policy.

Billing

Paid plans, subscriptions, invoices, and payment processing may be handled through Stripe. Prices, billing intervals, renewal dates, cancellation options, and subscription status are shown in the product or in Stripe-hosted billing flows when available.

A teacher or school billing account is responsible for charges associated with that subscription. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, cancellations take effect according to the billing flow and any access period already purchased.

Service Availability

We work to keep Habident reliable, but the service may be unavailable, delayed, modified, or discontinued from time to time because of maintenance, outages, third-party provider issues, security needs, or product changes.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe these Terms have been violated, account security is at risk, payment is overdue, or continued access could harm Habident, users, schools, or third parties. Schools or account owners may request account closure or data deletion by contacting us.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Habident is provided as available and as permitted by applicable law. We disclaim warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly secure, or fit for every educational need. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Habident will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data loss, or service interruption.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide notice as appropriate for the change and the users affected. Continued use of Habident after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
